content:'Dr. Christopher Griffiths is Foundation Professor of Dermatology and head of the Research School of Translational Medicine, University of Manchester. He developed the “hub-and-spoke” model of dermatology services for greater Manchester and instigated the North West Regional Dermatology Training Scheme. He introduced a multidisciplinary clinic for severe psoriasis, the Manchester Psoriasis Service, and was awarded Hospital Doctor Dermatology Team of the Year Award in 2002.
Dr. Griffiths is a past president of the British Association of Dermatologists and a past chairman of the British Society for Investigative Dermatology. He is on the editorial staff of eight scientific journals, including associate editor of the Journal of Investigative Dermatology. He has also authored 352 research articles in peer-reviewed journals and 150 articles in non-peer-reviewed journals, and is a co-editor of the premier international textbook of dermatology, Rook’s Textbook of Dermatology. His research includes immunological mechanisms of psoriasis, immunotherapy, including the new biological agents, the “brain-skin axis” and mechanisms and repair of skin aging.
In 2007 he was appointed to head the new Research School of Translational Medicine in the faculty of Medicine and Human Sciences. The school comprises seven research groups: dermatological sciences; G.I. sciences; clinical neurosciences; respiratory medicine; occupational and environmental health; genomic epidemiology; and arc epidemiology.
Dr. Griffiths received his BSc with first-class honors, as well as an MB and BS from St. Thomas’ Hospital Medical School, London University. He also received his medical degree from London University. Additionally, Dr. Griffiths trained in dermatology at the University of Michigan, where he was on the faculty of the department of dermatology.

Dr. Pearl Grimes is the director of the Vitiligo and Pigmentation Institute of Southern California. She is a clinical professor of Dermatology at UCLA. After serving two years as a major in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Mandy entered private practice in 1973. Dr. Mandy became a volunteer clinical professor of dermatology at the University of Miami in 1984 and continues to teach there today. Dr. Tiesman was an early adopter of microarray technology, having worked in the field since 1997. He is an acknowledged microarray expert and has published more than 15 articles in the field, two of which have earned “Publication of the Year” honors. He also speaks extensively at international meetings on microarray experimental design and is listed on over 65 presentations. He collaborates extensively with scientists in academia and the biotechnology industry and is a member of several academic, governmental, and industrial organizations, including the Association of Biomedical Resource Facilities Microarray Research Group (ABRF-MARG), the Association of Molecular Pathology (AMP), and the Society for Investigative Dermatology. He sits on the Scientific Advisory Board of NuGEN Technologies, Inc.
Dr. Tiesman obtained his PhD in pathology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. In Omaha, he worked in the laboratory of Dr. Angie Rizzino at the Eppley Cancer Institute, delineating the roles and impact of growth factors on embryonic development. Dr. Robinson completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Notre Dame and received his PhD in microbiology from the Roswell Park Memorial Institute Division of the State University of New York at Buffalo. After receiving his PhD, Dr. Robinson spent six years as a postdoctoral and NIH fellow at Thomas Jefferson and Hahnemann universities in Philadelphia and as a staff immunologist at the Department of Immunochemistry Research at Evanston Hospital in Illinois. She has held academic appointments at Stanford University Hospital, the University of California Irvine Medical Center, and most recently at the University of South Florida.
Dr. Weinkle is affiliated with numerous professional societies. She is vice president of the Women’s Dermatologic Society Foundation, a fellow of the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology, and a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology. She serves on the board of directors for the American Academy of Dermatology and was recently elected to the board of directors of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She currently serves as vice chairperson of the Dermatologic Foundation and is also a board trustee. Additionally, Dr. Weinkle is past president of the Women’s Dermatologic Society Foundation.
Dr. Weinkle is a medical editor for Drugs in Dermatology and is on the editorial board of Practical Dermatology. She has published over a dozen articles on skin carcinoma, surgical techniques, and cosmetic therapies. She frequently lectures on behalf of the American Academy and other leading dermatology societies, nationally and internationally.
Dr. Weinkle received her medical degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville and completed her residency and fellowship training in dermatology at Stanford University.
